That's me and my sister when we were kids. I'm the younger one being goofy, and I just love this photo. One of the very few I've got from my childhood. It stands for everything with documentary family photography for me. A photo like this that I can show my daughter and tell her my childhood stories and perhaps she can pass those stories on to the next generation. A visual story of me that will live forever, and so an essence of me will live on with it too.

so who am i?

Hi, My name is Mahta, originally Persian I some years of my childhood in Iran, before moving to Sweden and around my mid-twenties I decided there was more to this world and I wanted to experience it. So for the past decade I've traveled around the world and lived in different countries, worked many jobs and experienced different cultures and people, met my British husband and had a wonderful daughter. Being interested in societies, people and particularly children and families, I've also got myself a degree Child studies. But one thing that has followed along with me in my journeys has been my camera, from documenting my travels to doing portraits, creating personal projects and documenting families. It's an important medium for me to visually communicate my story and my perception of life, and it is indeed a powerful medium.

I'm also a yoga teacher, and enjoy writing and creating art. Don't hesitate to get in touch. let me know if I can help you create visual memories of your daily life with your family.

Much love

Mahta
